Acupressure
“According to the principles of traditional Chinese medicine, the body has vital energy called “chi” or “qi” that flows along invisible lines of energy flow called meridians. There are thought to be at least 14 meridians connecting our organs with other parts of our body. Acupuncture and acupressure points lie on those meridians. If the flow of qi is blocked at any point on a meridian, it’s thought to be the cause of ailments and lead to disease anywhere along the meridian.”
Acupressure is used for arthritis, IVDD (Intervertebral Disk Disease) , skin issues, bladder issues , thyroid problems, kidney problems, cancer etc.
Animal Massage Therapy
Animals, like people, benefit from massage in many ways. Massage releases muscle stiffness and tension, relieves joint pain and arthritis, and strengthens blood and lymph circulation throughout your pet’s body.
By strengthening muscles and increasing flexibility, oxygen flow and range of motion, we can keep our beloved companion animals healthy, happy and in tip tail shape. Massage therapy is fantastic for your agility dog who is working his/her muscles to the fullest capacity.
Massage is wonderful for newly adopted pets as well and will increase a pet’s confidence and help them bond!
Animal Reiki
The word Reiki (ray-key) means “spiritual energy.” All things consist of Reiki since all things are made of energy. This energy travels through us to the beings who need healing. The energy is channeled from the universe around is therefore we are “practitioners” and not “healers.”
Reiki aids in the healing of injuries, muscle soreness, post-surgery recovery, separation anxiety and chronic conditions such as arthritis. It helps emotional issues such as abandonment and neglect. In healthy animals it helps by maintaining their health and keeping them relaxed and content.
Since Reiki is about perfect energetic balance it always finds the origin of the problem or “imbalance” and works to rebalance. It is non-invasive and does not cause any discomfort, pain or stress and has powerful results. It is a fantastic complement to Chinese Medicine, Western Medicine, homeopathy and all other forms of healing.
Jin Shin Jyutsu®
“Jin Shin Jyutsu® is an ancient oriental Art of harmonizing life energy within the body. Said to predate Buddha and Moses, it was rediscovered in the early 1900’s by Master Jiro Murai, who, after recovery from a “terminal” illness, devoted himself to the revival of the Art for future generations. He believed that the capacity to use this Art is born in all of us, like our hands, the tools with which it is applied.
There are two important distinctions between Jin Shin Jyutsu and many other massage and oriental healing modalities to which it is often compared.
First, Jin Shin Jyutsu is an art, as opposed to a technique; a technique is a mechanical application, whereas an art is a skillful creation.
Second, Jin Shin Jyutsu is not a physical manipulation of tissue and uses only minimal pressure. The hands are used as “jumper cables,” contacting 26 “safety energy locks” to redirect, or unblock the flow of energy along its pathways.
A practitioner of Jin Shin Jyutsu is not the “do-er”, s/he simply assists in the flow of an infinite supply of universal energy. This process does not affect the practitioner’s personal supply of energy.”
K-Tape
What is K-Tape?
“Kinesiology tape is effective in reducing inflammation, increasing support and stability, reducing pain and improving function. Many practitioners, including myself, use kinesiology tape following a body work session to enhance the effects of the session.
Kinesiology tape improves blood flow by lifting the animal’s hair, which in turn lifts the skin, creating a decompressive effect. This decompression allows blood to flow more freely through the underlying soft tissue, which aids in reducing any stagnant fluid (inflammation/edema) and also increases blood flow in areas that are lacking (improves healing and waste removal).
This tape also stimulates nerves called mechanoreceptors which have a direct influence on the nociceptor nerves (pain sensation). The more mechanoreceptors that are stimulated, the less nociceptor nerves that can fire, therefore having a pain reduction effect.
By applying the tape in certain ways (depending on how you cut it, how much stretch you apply and where you place it), you can add stability and support to joints and muscles. This proves in being extremely helpful when you have an animal with an injury or instability. The tape helps improve function and proper movement through support, but doesn’t restrict range of motion like other athletic tapes tend to do (kinesiology tape stretches along the longitudinal axis to allow it to move with the body).”
K-Tape is used for ACL issues, knee support, after surgery, IVDD (back issues), hip issues etc.
